So, I started observing at a local high school this past week, and I really think it's going to be a very beneficial experience in developing my skills in the classroom. There is an Interactive Multimedia class, which was very cool, a Computer Applications class, and Keyboarding class that I will be observing.
I had my first experience with a Smart Board, and those things really seem great. You just touch it and it's like operating a mouse on the screen. I had a chance to play with Photoshop using the Smart Board, and I was amazed. I was able to create a new document and use Photoshop's tools by touching the screen with my finger. Very neat.

Thanks for updating everyone with your experience on the SmartBoard--more than likely if you teach anywhere in a high school, you'll have access to one of these. We use them in all classrooms at the high school level and fortunately are almost fully equipped at the elementary level as well. Younger students also have SmartTables--some technology but a group of up to 8 students can interact on activities with the same touch technology! Pretty cool stuff!
